Clinical efficacy of sofren injection on treating patients with acute paraquat poisoning

Objective

To explore the efficacy of sofren injection in treatment of acute paraquat poisoning.

Methods

Sixty-five patients with acute paraquat poisoning from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were selected from January 2014 to May 2014. These patients were voluntarily divided into 2 groups, one of which was treated with sofren injection and regular therapy (sofren group, n=35) while other was treated with regular therapy(regular group, n=30). Thechanges of lung, liver, kidneyas well as cardiovascularfunctions damaged by the toxic were observed.

Results

Sofren group compared with the conventional treatment group, the number of cases of pulmonary fibrosis(8∶14), myocardial injury cases(2∶8)decreased significantly, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05); 28 d death cases(6∶10), the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).

Conclusion

Sofren injection can improve the acute lung and myocardial injury in patients with paraquatpoisoning.
