Comparative study on effect of different anticoagulators on veno-venous hemofiltration treating hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis in pregnancy

Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the anticoagulant effect and safety of Argatroba and sodium citrate in hemoperfusion combined with continuous veno-venous hemofiltration treating hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis in pregnancy.

Methods

The retrospective analysis was carried out on 20 patients with hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis in pregnancy, who were enrolled in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from December 2013 to December 2016.All patients were randomly divided to Argatroba group (n=11) and sodium citrate group (n=9). Clinical data on routine blood test, coagulation test, blood gas analysis and blood biochemistry were collected before and after therapy.

Results

The clinical symptoms after treatment in the two groups were improved, while levels of triglyceride, Amylase, APACHE II scores were decreased, with no statistical difference between two groups (P>0.05). However, compared with sodium citrate group, the level of fibrinogen was decreased in Argatroba group (P<0.05) but APTT was extended significantly (P< 0.05). Compared with Argatroba group, rate of bleeding and coagulation was lower in sodium citrate group.

Conclusion

Sodium citrate is more feasible and safer than Argatroba for veno-venous hemofiltration treating hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis in pregnancy.
