Abstract:

Objective

To explore the mechanism of the treatment of acute ischemic stroke by the Chinese medicine preparation of nidekang.

Methods

A total of 362 patients with acute ischemic stroke in the Department of neurosurgery in our hospital were divided into the treatment group and the control group, with 181 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional drug treatment, while the treatment group was given conventional treatment plus Naodekang. The stroke scale score and BI score before and after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the mortality rate, adverse reactions and complications of the two groups were compared.

Results

The difference of nerve function defect degree in two groups were not significantly different before treatment (P>0.05) and were significantly decreased after treatment (P<0.01). The BI scores of two groups before treatment were (52.34±11.52) and (53.14±12.57) without the significantly difference (P>0.05). The BI scores of two groups after treatment were (82.42±16.58) and (73.47±15.57) with the significantly difference (P<0.05). The morality rates of two groups were 8.84% (16/181) and 18.23% (33/181), respectively. There was a significant difference between two groups (P<0.05). The complication rates of two groups were 3.31% and 2.21%. There was no significant difference (P>0.05).

Conclusion

The prognosis of patients with acute cerebral ischemia can be improved by Naodekang on the basis of conventional therapy.
