Application of mind mapping in bedside succession and quality control of criticall-ill patients

Abstract:

Objective

To observe the application of the bedside mind mapping in the management of critically ill patients in terms of bedside succession and quality control.

Methods

A divergent thinking was done from five aspects including brief history of the patients, the key points of system transition, other content, the nursing problems and handover measures and the bedside mind-mapping was designed. In the meantime, the training inspection team was established to ensure that all employees mastered the use of bedside mind-mapping. The percent of pass was compared before and after use of mind-mapping auxiliary bedsied succession in critically ill patients.

Results

Using the bedside mind-mapping, the qualified rate of bedside succession of the critically ill patients ranged from 56.66% to 88.33% (P<0.05), with significant difference. The leakage handover items were decreased from 16.10% to 6.15% (P<0.05).

Conclusion

The bedside mind-mapping inspires nurses of divergent thinking, clarity, and improves the qualification rate of bedside succession of critically ill patients.
