Abstract:

Objective

To study the value of the serum circular ribonucleic acid(circRNA)in the diagnosis and prognosis in of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Methods

From January 2014 to December 2016, 80 patients with COPD were selected from Lianyungang Second People’s Hospital, and 30 patients who underwent health check-ups in the hospital during the same period were selected as randomized control The varying expression of circRNA in the serum samples of two groups of subjects was obtained by using the Arraystar circRNA chip screening, the acquired target circRNA molecule was were validated using qRT-PCR, and the annotation and functional prediction were used in combination with bioinformatics software.

Results

The differences in expression in circRNA-001988, circRNA-0000344 and circRNA-0000284 in COPD group and normal group serum were explored in this study: compared to normal groups, the expression of circRNA-001988 and circRNA-0000344 was reduced in serum samples in the COPD group by (6.54±2.75) and (5.94±2.89)t imes, respectively, and circRNA-0000284 was increased in serum samples in the COPD group by (8.54±3.25) times. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Serum circRNA can be used as a biomarker for COPD diagnosis and prognosis, and has good clinical predictive value.
