Abstract:
Objective To study the expression of monocytes pro-inflammatory cytokines and anti-inflammatory factors in patients with hepatitis C cirrhosis.
Methods A total of 35 patients with hepatitis C virus-associated cirrhosis were collected from January 2016 to May 2017 in infection department of our hospital. 18 health subjects were enrolled in as control group. Biochemical index, blood lipids, blood routine and other baseline data were detected.
Results The level of ALT, AST and triglyceride were higher than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); Albumin, white blood cells and platelet count were lower than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The expression of TNF-α, IL1-β, IL-12β and IL-4 was similar in patients group and control group (P>0.05). However, IL-10 and TGF-β expressed in both groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). The HCV-RNA load in patient group was positively correlated with TNF-α, IL-12β (r= 0.452, 0.442, respectively, P<0.05) and negatively correlated with IL-10 and TGF-β (r=-0.732, -0.749, P>0.05). IL-1β and IL-4 displayed no relation with HCV-RNA load. TNF-α displayed a positive correlation with IL1-β and IL-12-β in patient group(r=0.531, 0.7660, 0.448, respectively, P<0.05), TNF-α negatively correlated with IL-10 and TGF-β (r=-0.732, -0.749, respectively, P<0.05). IL-12β also negatively correlated with IL-10 and TGF-β (r=-0.996, -0.999, P<0.05). IL-10 showed a positive correlation with TGF-β cytokines (r=0.999, P<0.05).
Conclusions IL-10 and TGF-β are highly expressed in monocytes of patients with hepatitis C cirrhosis.
