Abstract:

Objective

To apply intelligent simulator in CPR training and assessment to the accuracy of CPR operation of medical staff.

Methods

A total of 127 nurses in the emergency center were evaluated for CPR by using intelligent simulator (XC-406-3 CPR model), including 5 males and 122 females, aged from 22 to 54 years and mean age is(28.1±6.2) years old. The simulator automatically recorded 5 parameters including the pressed site, pressing frequency, depth of pressure, airway open, accurate and effective artificial respiration, which are in place for the CPR operation. CPR assessment of the entire time is controlled in 150~160s for compliance, and CPR full-time compliance rate was recorded.

Results

Among 5 cycles of CPR, there were 43 nurses with high accuracy, of whom 5 were male nurses. The accuracy rate of CPR was 33.9%.Mid-thorax compression showed high accuracy, while the accuracy of airway opening and artificial respiration was low. The compliance rate of CPR full time was only 23.6%, with 150s nurses accounted for half of the total number, indicating that the frequency of chest compression was too fast.105 female nurses felt tired after finishing 3 to 4 cycles, accounting for 82.7%. Male nurses felt tired after finishing 5 cycles of CPR.

Conclusion

CPR operational accuracy of nurses in emergency needs to be improved. Simulators can be used for CPR training and examination to test the accuracy of the nurses’operation.
