Abstract:

Objective

To explore whether the aircraft transport can be safely used in the early stage of burn injury, and whether it can bring good effect to the treatment of burn injury.

Methods

Nine burn patients with moderate or severe inhalation injury in three batches were transported to the burn center by plane during shock period and were treated regularly in time to observe whether the process was safe and effective.

Results

The transportation process of 9 patients was safe, smooth and stable. After the follow-up treatment, 1 patient with multiple organ failure died on 20th day after the injury.

Conclusion

During the shock period of the burned patients, their condition were actively assessed, after necessary preparation, they can be transported by aircraft, and the rehydration monitoring on the way can ensure the stability of vital signs and quickly reach the burn treatment center for follow-up systematic and standardized treatment. The period of shock was stable, the complications were reduced, and the rate of successful treatment was improved.
