Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the significance of D-dimer (D-D) detection in the early diagnosis of acute aortic dissection.

Methods

Retrospective analysis was carried out on 39 patients with acute aortic dissection (AAD, ADD group) and acute coronary syndrome (ACS, ACS group) combine with chest tightness and chest pain symptoms, who were admitted to the emergency department of the Wujin Hospital. The level of DD, troponin and creatine kinase MB were measured in both groups.

Results

The level of DD in AAD group was significantly higher than that in ACS group (P<0.01), while the levels of troponin and creatine kinase MB in both groups showed no significant difference (P<0.01).

Conclusion

Rapid emergency detection of DD can be used for evaluating the risk factors for AAD. Elevated level of DD in patients with chest distress and chest pain indicates possible aortic dissection, which can be diagnosed by aortic CTA.

Key words: D-dimer, Acute aortic dissection, TroponinⅠ, Creatine Kinase MB
